35below
and Asheville Community Theatre are volunteer driven theatres.
The dedication and support of our volunteers makes our productions
and other programs possible. All volunteers receive complimentary
tickets to the production on which they work. At 35below, we’re
looking for people to help out with the following jobs:
build
crew
If
you’ve ever wanted to staple a piece of styrofoam to a 2x4
or reposition an orange-gelled light, we could use your skills.
No experience needed, though a basic knowledge of various tools
and their purposes is helpful. We usually build Tuesday and Thursday
nights (beginning around 6:30pm) and Saturdays (beginning around
10:00am).
production crew
We need the
following on a per-show basis: stage managers, assistant stage
managers, light board operators, props assistants, and wardrobe
assistants. All crew members must be committed to working throughout
the run of the show.
bartending
This volunteer
needs to be confident with making change, serving refreshments
in a pleasant manner, and keeping track of nightly inventory.
We serve only wine at 35below, so no previous experience in bartending
is necessary. Must be 21 or over.
house
managing
Although 35below
is a general seating facility, we need a person who can assist
the audience members make their way into the theatre, find the
restrooms, and answer any general questions. House managers will
assist bartenders with evening concession records. House managers
stay in the lobby during the performance and do not watch the
show, but will be welcomed with open arms into another performance
of their choosing.
If
any of these jobs sound like something you’d like to spend
some time doing, contact Chris Martin at 254-2939 x 21 or email him at volunteers@ashevilletheatre.org.
